This includes ensuring that any medical\/behavioural needs of the cat(s) are within your comfort level. All foster cats must see our chosen vets in order for Next Chance Cat Rescue to cover vet bills. Prescription food and medications are covered for fosters who require it. Foster families are given first priority for adoption, and are notified of any other application before the cat leaves our care. Foster families have the first right of refusal should another application come in, but must then choose to adopt the cat rather than continue fostering said cat.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>We have four types of Foster Options:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Group Foster<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; for families that want a pair or small group of adult cats that will care for each other. Two cats minimum, six cats maximum. Fosters must return to the Lounge frequently for possible rehoming. Pickup can be arranged depending on the foster home location.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Kittens Foster<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; for those who like kitten energy! Kittens stay with their cat family until they are at least 4 months old and can be fixed. Minimum 2 kittens, and there must be an adult cat that enjoys socializing with other cats (this can be one of our rescues if no cat is in the home currently). Fosters must return to the Lounge frequently for possible rehoming (Kitten family groups will have their own separate area from the other rescue cats). Pickup can be arranged depending on the foster home location.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Lone Foster <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; for families that want one cat at a time. Lone Fosters are cats that do not wish to be around other cats, or can&#8217;t due to their medical status. Fosters must return to the Lounge frequently for possible rehoming (Lone cats will have their own separate area from the other rescue cats). Pickup can be arranged depending on the foster home location.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Palliative Fosters <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; for families that wish to make a difference in one cat&#8217;s life, possibly for the rest of its life. Life expectancy is less than 12 months or requiring ongoing medical care\/monitoring. For the rest of their life, or until it doesn&#8217;t work for yours. Not expected to come back to the Lounge to rehome, but may require more frequent vet visits.
